William Henry Mueller
William Henry Mueller was born 27-Aug 1888 in St. Louis. His parents were Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Müller (1861–1921) and Katheryn “Kattie” A Von Fintel (1864–1941). He had five brothers: Willis, Ewald, Albert, Ervin, Harold and Edward and two sisters: Viola and Lillie.
According to the 1900 Federal Census, the family was living at 1118 E. 11th Street in Winfield Kansas. William was 11. By 1910, the family was living on Chambers Street in St. Louis. William was now 21, earning a wage as a salesman in the “Tea and Coffee” industry. He married Esther Uhlich on 29-Jun 1918 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Chapel in Chesterfield, Missouri. They raised two children: Olney and Betty.
When he registered for the draft during World War I, he listed his occupation as a clerk with National Oats Company in St. Louis, Mo. William enlisted in the Army on 8-Jul 1918. He attained the rank of Sergeant. His service number was 3088490. He served in the US Army in Company L, the 163rd Infantry.
