Charles Errvin Linhoff was born 19-JAN 1918 in St. Charles Missouri. His father was Charles Walter Linhoff (1993-1951) and his mother was Gladys Boettler Linhoff (1892-1944). He had five brothers: Arthur, Roy, Elmer, Wilbur, and Vernon and one sister: Nettie. Charles enlisted 27-NOV 1942 in New York City, New York. According to his draft card, at the time of his enlistment, he was employed by C.F. Saak in Montgomery City Missouri. His service number was 32646153.
Corporal Charles E. Linhoff died of burns suffered in an explosion at Fort Polk Louisiana while serving on 10-JUL 1944. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery along with his parents and family members.
