Brandon E. Hansen
Brandon E. Hansen was born 6-MAR 1972 in Los Angeles California. He attended San Clemente High School in San Clemente California. Brandon E. Hansen, USCG, is the son of Morrie (USN Korea) and Bonnie Hansen originally of Dana Point, CA and lately of Bedford, VA. He and his wife Juli have five children: sons, Jacob, Alex and Riley; and daughters, Emily and Sarah.
Chief Warrant Officer Brandon Hansen began his 30-year U.S. Coast Guard career with his enlistment in 1991. Upon completion of basic training, he was stationed in Guam (1991-1993) where he was on hand for the 7.8 earthquake and super-typhoon Omar, both in August of 1993. He then took orders to Monterey, CA (1993-1995).
After completing his four-year enlistment, CWO4 Hansen transferred into the reserves and enrolled full time at the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1997, he graduated with an associate degree in automotive and diesel technology.
In all, CWO4 Hansen served in the Naval Engineering field in the enlisted ranks through E7 (1991-2010), becoming a Chief Petty Officer in 2004.
In 2010, Brandon Hansen joined the officer corps by becoming a Chief Warrant Officer 2 and began work in the marine safety field. By the time of his retirement, he had attained the highest Warrant Officer ranking in the Coast Guard—that of Chief Warrant Officer 4. Fully half of his 30-year career was spent in St. Louis, working on the Western Rivers.
