On This Day 16-JUN 1944, We Honor a Fallen Hero

Edward Stanley Buckshot was born 24-FEB 1919 in Alton, Illinois.  His parents Eugene and Grace were both born in Missouri.  His father worked as a machinist for a glass manufacturer. Edward had one older brother Marion and one younger brother Eugene. His grandmother, Mrs. George W. Cox lived in St. Charles MO.  Edward graduated from Alton High School in June 1940 and attended one semester of college as an art student. Prior to enlisting in the service, he was employed at Western Cartridge Company in East Alton. On 29-JUN 1941 Edward married Cora Laverne “Billye” Trotter and briefly lived in St. Charles MO.
