Michael David Cummins
Michael David Cummins was born 7-NOV 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. His father was Charles David Cummins Jr. (1919-2001) and his mother was Melba Jean Janes Cummins (1931-2006). Michael had one brother: Patrick. Michael attended Riverview Gardens High School, graduating in 1976. After high school, he attended Southwest Missouri State where he participated in the ROTC program.
In 1980 Michael was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Missouri National Guard. For much of the final decades of the twentieth century, National Guard personnel typically served “One weekend a month, two weeks a year”, with a portion working for the Guard in a full-time capacity.
In 1982, Michael joined the Army and went to Armor School in Fort Benning (now Fort Moore) Georgia. Michael would serve for 28 years moving from armor to fly the AH-1 Huey Cobra Helicopter. Michael deployed with the 101st to the Persian Gulf in 1991.
Besides his military career, Michael continued his life of service as an O’ Fallon Missouri Police Officer.
