Matthew Joe Agola
Matthew Joe Agola was born 26-MAY 1923 in Normandy Missouri. His parents were Peter Agola (1893-1977) and Rose Ferreri Agola (1899-1985). His parents were born in Italy. In 1923 The family lived on Jennings Road. He had an older sister Rose and a younger sister, Frances. His education was through the 8th grade.
Matthew enlisted on 20-JUL 1940. His service number was 410 85 05. On 20-Jan 1941 he was shown mustered on the U.S.S. Lexington (CV-2). By 30-Sep 1941 he was mustered onboard the U.S.S. Chew. His rank is shown as Seaman 2nd Class (S2c)
Mathew was killed in action on 7-Dec 1941 at Pearl Harbor and was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Missouri. He was 17.
