Mid America Veterans Museum Announces Appointment of New Executive Director

[O’Fallon, Missouri] – [Date: February 27, 2024]

The Mid America Veterans Museum (MAVM), formerly known as the St. Charles County Veterans Museum, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina DeAngelo as its new Executive Director. DeAngelo’s appointment comes as MAVM prepares for a significant expansion to a new location on Bryan Rd in O’Fallon, driven by the museum’s growing prominence and the need for increased space to accommodate its expanding collection and programs.

Established by Ralph Barrale, the St. Charles County Veterans Museum has served as a vital institution honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our nation’s veterans for the past 4 years. The museum has become a cherished community resource, offering educational exhibits, outreach programs, and support services for veterans and their families.

Nina DeAngelo brings a wealth of experience in non-profit management and community engagement to her new role as Executive Director of MAVM. With a background in member experience management at the Cottleville-Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce and as Vice President of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries, DeAngelo has demonstrated a commitment to serving and uplifting communities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nina DeAngelo as the new Executive Director of the Mid America Veterans Museum,” said Bobby Christopher, Board President. “Her proven track record of leadership and her passion for supporting veterans make her the ideal candidate to lead MAVM into its next chapter of growth and impact.”

“What an exciting opportunity this is to marry my non-profit experience and my military experience to move the mission of the museum forward and bring this amazing vision of Ralph Barrale to life! I am honored to be part of this team and look forward to the massive success that lies ahead.” Nina DeAngelo said.

DeAngelo’s tenure at MAVM will be marked by several key initiatives and projects, including the highly anticipated Remembrance Gala on November 15th, 2024, and the fan favorite Music Bingo event scheduled for May 17th. Additionally, DeAngelo plans to enhance MAVM’s outreach efforts, expand educational programs, and foster partnerships within the community to further elevate the museum’s mission of honoring veterans.
