Our Team
Our amazing team of volunteers is committed to preserving history. We collect Veterans’ Interviews one interview at a time. Each interview involves an interviewer and a videographer.
Our History
MAVM VHP is a program launched shortly after the museum opened its doors in the spring of 2019. This program was implemented to record and collect Veterans’ unique experiences. In March of 2025, the Missouri Veterans History Project joined our program allowing us to reach broarder and wider across the state of Missouri and beyond.
We do this by:
- training volunteers to interview and record the stories of Veterans
- organizing community-based campaigns to connect with interested Veterans
- making the recordings available to the State Historical Society of Missouri, the U.S. Library of Congress and the Veteran.
Our Mission
MAVM VHP volunteers from across the State of Missouri conduct video interviews with Veterans from any war or peacetime service. Our volunteers donate their time and expertise as they preserve history one story at a time.
We have active site teams in Missouri; O’Fallon, St. Louis and Boonville. Interviews are conducted either face-to-face or virtually depending upon the circumstances.
