A powerful memorial is coming to the Mid America Veterans Museum this summer.
On September 3, 2024 the Veterans and Athletes United will bring the memorial exhibit Honoring Fallen Heroes of the War on Terror from across the U.S. to Mid America Veterans Museum. The memorial will be on display through September 7th.

The Fallen Heroes Memorial features a 28-foot American flag with the dog tags of 7,040 fallen heroes and 50 gold stars in honor of the family members of fallen soldiers who died while serving in the War on Terror from 2001 to present day.

Created by an all-volunteer veteran’s organization, the display symbolizes a flag draped over a fallen soldier’s casket.    We hope to raise awareness of the sacrifice paid by our nation’s heroes that keep this country free and flying under one flag.

The outdoor exhibit will be on display 24 HOURS and a special ceremony with Guest speakers and Color Guard is planned for each evening at 7pm (Sep 4-7th).

Hosting this powerful traveling exhibit is a small way that the Mid America Veterans museum honors our Global War on Terror fallen heroes and Gold Star families. The museum hopes to build a permanent War on Terror Tribute on the grounds honoring all those who served in the near future.  We recognize that when many of our troops come home, their battle just begins. The mission of the Mid America Veterans Museum is to honor their service and share their stories.
