MID AMERICA VETERANS MUSEUM

WELCOME TO THE MID AMERICA VETERANS MUSEUM

Ralph Barrale wanted to see a Veterans Museum that would honor all of those Veterans who served our country, and especially those from St. Charles County. This was but another example of Ralph Barrale’s dedication to our servicemen and women and his desire to keep their memories in the forefront of the generations of today so that our Veterans will not be forgotten.

The museum opened in the spring of 2019. There you will find “Ralph’s Story” among others like his, who served our country, because Ralph felt:

No one is ever gone, as long as someone still has memories of them.

The Fallen Heroes Memorial features a 28-foot American flag with the dog tags of 7,040 fallen heroes and 50 gold stars in honor of the family members of fallen soldiers who died while serving in the War on Terror from 2001 to present day.

The outdoor exhibit will be on display 24 HOURS and a special ceremony with Guest speakers and Color Guard is planned for each evening at 7pm (Sep 4-7th).

JOHN GIZZIE

John Gizzie: This soldier served in World War One as a member of an Observation Balloon company. Observation balloons played an important, though now all-but-forgotten part in World War I.  It required 180 enlisted men and seven officers to keep a single 35,000-cubic-foot balloon in the air!  He kept very detailed records of each mission. Read excerpts from his account of his service, and the contribution these veterans made to the winning of the war.

Easy access into the parking lot and big enough to turn my rig around. The museum was very informative on all the wars. They offer 30 and 50amp hookups for a donation.
